About the Award: The TWAS-Siwei Cheng Award, a collaborative effort by The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Siwei Cheng Foundation, is designed to honor economists making significant contributions to sustainable development or to the advancement of economic sciences. This prestigious award targets economic scientists whose work has markedly impacted the development of scientific thought or the pursuit of sustainable development goals.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Residency: Candidates must have resided and worked in a developing country in the Global South for at least the past ten years.
- Self-Nominations: Not accepted. Candidates must be nominated by others to be considered for the award.
Award Benefits: The recipient of the TWAS-Siwei Cheng Award will receive a monetary prize of 10,000 USD, acknowledging their outstanding contribution to the economic sciences.
